Standards of Clinical Competence

Section 118 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act requires the Board to set standards of clinical competence, cultural competence and ethical conduct for optometrists and dispensing opticians.  The Board has set the following Standards of Clinical Competence.

For optometrists
