Practical tips you need to know from CLEAR: Evidence-Based contact lens practice

Presenter(s): Megan Zabell and Nadia Michaels

 Format:    Lecture

Duration: Online webinar for 1.5 hr + CPD Assessment Questions

 Content/Programme:

In this interactive webinar, practical tips from the recently published CLEAR report on Contact Lens Evidence-Based contact lens practice will be shared, from initial fit through to aftercare. We also discuss Contact Lens Surface Technologies and why they matter to our patients in our quest in improving contact lens retention.

Throughout this webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and experience with their colleagues and reflect on the literature presented and how it will influence their clinical practice. Attendees will be broken up into smaller groups of 10 for interactive peer discussion for 30 minutes of the webinar duration (3 x 10 minute discussions). We will provide them with questions to answer and discuss as a group. Attendees must have their video camera turned on and be unmuted to participate. They will be placed into the same group for each interactive session.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand which factors are important to consider for contact lens selection and evaluating fit
  2. Understand the key factors associated with contact lens comfort, in particular friction, lubricity
