Optometry Australia’s journal Clinical and Experimental Optometry (CXO) is one of the top-ranking journals in optometry, ophthalmology, and vision science around the world. It publishes research that is immediately translatable into clinical practice. Once a year, CXO publishes a special issue that focuses on a topic of clinical interest. The latest special issue is on “Ocular Manifestations of Systemic Disease”, with papers from leading researchers on a range of topics including: ocular manifestations of endocrine disorders, ischaemia, multiple sclerosis, graft-versus-host disease and spondyloarthropathies; ocular side effects of systemic medications and systemic side effects of glaucoma medications; biochemical markers of systemic disease in the tear film; dry eye disease as a chronic disease; and the eye in migraine and neurodegenerative diseases. This one-hour lecture will feature highlights from these recent papers and enable clinicians to put into immediate practice the recent discoveries published in this Special Issue of CXO.
