Developed to meet the needs of practising optometrists, the ACO Advanced Certificate in Glaucoma (ACO-ACG) curriculum has been designed to provide current evidence-based information on the pathophysiology, diagnosis and co-management of glaucoma disease. Completion of this course will enable graduates to upskill in glaucoma and safely participate in collaborative care with ophthalmologists.

The ACO-ACG is a six-month remote learning course that offers a flexible style of learning with:

  • Self-paced independent learning (approximately 35 hours)
  • Flexible delivery comprising online lectures and demonstration videos
  • E-learning materials
  • 68 CPD (therapeutic) points for re–registration purposes in Australia
  • 30 clinical diagnostic (CD) credits in New Zealand
  • Improve and increase co-management of glaucoma with opthalmologists
  • Local clinical experience within Australia and/or New Zealand
  • Completion of a clinical logbook
  • Online assessments
  • Post-nominals upon completion of the full course
  • High level of support provided by the ACO
