Recent years have seen intensified efforts among the scientific and clinical community to address the pressing and urgent need to devise strategies to slow myopia progression in children. Several optical and pharmacological interventions have now been identified and translated into clinical practice.16 Knowledge of the fundamental mechanisms of myopia and evidence regarding contemporary and novel myopia interventions continue to accumulate at a rapid pace. As with any evidence-based medicine, clinical decision making in myopia management must be informed by the best available evidence, with adequate consideration given to the latest advances in the field. This article discusses some clinical considerations that may be important when directing myopia management.
