Attending optometrists will bring glaucoma cases that they would like discussed and we will also provide additional glaucoma for discussion if time allows. The aim is for an interactive session where we review and discuss the patients’ presentation, examination findings, test results and management.
The aim of the session is for optometrists to improve there knowledge of glaucoma and also to develop their clinical skills, clinical decision making and management of glaucoma. For each case that is presented, I will carefully review there history, examination findings, visual field testing, and OCT or optic disc photos with the attendees in an interactive fashion. For each patient that is presented a diagnosis and differential diagnosis will be decided upon and then management options will be discussed. Management will include not only treatment but all aspects of the patient’s care and follow up.
