Myopia management: an additional service to offer parents, or has this become part of our duty of care as optometrists? More importantly, how do we start having effective conversations with parents and how does myopia management work in the practice that may not have access to all the instrumentation suggested as the gold standard.
In this video, Nick Dash, a prominent myopia management specialist in the UK, will simplify the complexities of myopia management, with practical tips on communication and the varying ‘tools’ to manage progressing myopia in practice. Nick uses a range of treatment options for his patients, one of which is the NaturalVue 1 day EDOF contact lens. Parents of children managed by Nick, who are successfully wearing NaturalVue 1 day, will also share their experience with their myopia management journey and NaturalVue.
Dr Emma Gillies will present NaturalVue 5 year clinical (paired) data showing the efficacy of the lens in slowing myopia progression.
At the completion of this CPD Activity, participants should be able to:
1. Simplify the complexities of myopia management,
2. Communicate effectively with parents,
3. Build a myopia management toolbox and routine, and
4. Understand the NaturalVue 5 year clinical data.
