Posterior cortical atrophy (PCA) is a dementia syndrome in which the most prominent symptom is visual impairment due to degeneration of the posterior regions of the cortex.
As may be expected for people experiencing poor vision, the first port of call for patients is often their optometrist.
This CPD course describes the symptoms of posterior cortical atrophy so that they may be more easily recognised, and describes some of the current research being carried out to understand more about the condition.
