Recertification programmes

The Board has introduced Recertification programmes for optometrists and dispensing opticians which incorporate all of the Board’s current competence assurance requirements.

Board-Commissioned CPD

Back vertex Distance

The Board commissioned some CPD on recording back vertex distance during 2015. The CPD Accreditation Committee for Dispensing Opticians has approved this CPD for 2 points for dispensing opticians, and the CPD Accreditation Committee for Optometrists has approved this CPD for 0.5 General points for optometrists.

Applications for CPD credits on completion of this CPD should be submitted to the NZAO (for optometrists) or the Board (for dispensing opticians), per normal procedure.
