How to apply for prescribing rights
If you are currently practising as an optometrist and have recently obtained qualifications in therapeutic prescribing (see below), you can apply to the Board to change your scope of practice to allow for the prescribing of medicines.

Obtaining therapeutic qualifications
The following training providers offer Graduate Certificate(s) in Occular Therapeutics for those who wish to obtain a therapeutics qualification that would allow them to prescribe medicines within their scope of practice:

How to apply to have your name cancelled from the Register
If you wish to apply to the Board for cancellation of your name from the Register of Optometrists or Dispensing Opticians, please complete and submit the required application form. Click here to download this form.
Once your application has been considered, you will be notified of the outcome of your application by the Registrar.
